Pete Davidson Has Decided to Return to His Standup Career

Pete Davidson has apparently resurrected his standup comedy career in stealthy fashion.
Davidson, 31, who cut his teeth on stage before breaking through at “Saturday Night Live” in 2014, had not performed a standup set in a year before making his return to The Stand in New York City last week, according to Page Six.
Davidson took the mic on Monday and Wednesday nights for approximately 15 minutes each appearance, Page Six reported. The Staten Island native reportedly had a no cell phone policy for the gigs, with The Stand confiscating patrons’ mobile devices before Davidson went on stage.
“[Guests] didn’t know. Pete did a surprise drop-in,” the source said.
“He opened the set talking about how he hadn’t been on stage until Monday for a year, with his last set being a co-headline show with Dave Chappelle at his Ohio comedy club.”
Davidson, who is now sober, is also planning on performing in Dubai for U.S. military personnel and has a show with John Mulaney at the PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey in July, Page Six said.
Late last week, Davidson hit the red carpet for the first time with his new girlfriend, model Elsie Hewitt. The two attended the 13th Annual Blossom Ball in New York City, which raises awareness for endometriosis, a condition that affects Hewitt.
